Itinerary
Set off early in the morning for the Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of the last remaining places on earth where wildlife thrives in its natural environment, much as it did in ancient times. As the northern extension of the expansive Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara is renowned for the awe-inspiring seasonal migration of thousands of wildebeest and zebras, closely followed by their predators. Arrive at the reserve in time for lunch, then embark on an exciting afternoon game drive, where you’ll have the opportunity to witness the rich wildlife that makes this area famous.
After breakfast, embark on a full-day game drive with a packed lunch provided. The Maasai Mara is renowned for its black-maned lions and abundant resident wildlife. It’s one of the few places where you can spot the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—all within a single morning game drive. The Mara’s cheetahs are often so accustomed to vehicles that they seek shade beneath them, and some even climb onto the roofs to get a better view of potential prey.
For bird lovers, the reserve offers an impressive variety, with nearly 500 recorded species. Among these are 16 species of eagles, various hawks and falcons, 6 types of vultures, 8 species of storks, 4 types of bustards—including the Kori bustard, the heaviest flying bird in the world—and 9 species of sunbirds. The rich diversity of wildlife makes this an unforgettable safari experience.
Start the day with an early morning pick-up, followed by a drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, a destination renowned worldwide for its vibrant flamingo population. This alkaline lake, recognized as one of nature's wonders, is famous for the breathtaking sight of up to two million flamingos gathering along its shores, forming a striking pink band around the lake.
In addition to the flamingos, Lake Nakuru has become a sanctuary for rhinos, hosting over 40 black rhinos and more than 60 white rhinos, making it a prime spot for wildlife conservation. Arrive at the park in time for lunch, then set off on an afternoon game drive, exploring the diverse wildlife that makes this park so special.
Start the day with an early morning drive to Lake Naivasha, the highest and one of the most stunning lakes in the Rift Valley. Situated at an elevation of 1,910 meters (6,200 feet), the lake’s fresh waters are surrounded by thick clusters of papyrus, which were once used by ancient Egyptians to make paper. The lake’s dense vegetation serves as a habitat for a variety of wildlife—kingfishers perch on the papyrus, while herons hide within it, patiently searching for prey.
Lake Naivasha is also a haven for bird watchers, with over 400 species recorded in the area. It’s a popular weekend getaway for Nairobi residents, who flock here to sail, water ski, and fish. Although there are no crocodiles in the lake due to the cold water at this altitude, you’ll still find hippos enjoying the cool waters. The vineyards along the lakeshore contribute to Kenya’s emerging wine industry, producing grapes in this serene setting.
In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat ride on Lake Naivasha, where you can soak in the scenic beauty and spot wildlife along the shoreline.
An early Morning start and drive to Amboseli National Park. Check in at accommodation and lunch. Afternoon game drive. Amboseli National Park is situated due south of Nairobi, Most of the park consist of a dry, ancient lake bed and fragile grassland with patches of acacia woodland, while in the southern area there is a number of small, rocky, volcanic hills. Around the swamps Ol kenya, Ol Tukai and Enkongo Narok, the vegetation is lush with yellow barked acacias and phoenix palms. Dinner and overnight at campsite or lodge.
Rise early to catch the best views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds gather over the summit. After a packed lunch is provided, you may choose to visit a nearby Masai village if you wish. This visit offers a fascinating glimpse into the Masai way of life, including their traditional singing and dancing, sacred rituals, and the unique structure of their homes and community.
In Amboseli National Park, you’ll have the opportunity to witness elephants up close in one of Africa’s premier wildlife areas. The park’s unspoiled environment provides a safe haven for these magnificent creatures, allowing you to observe them as they feed and bathe in the swamps. The sight of these majestic elephants, in such close proximity and in their natural habitat, is truly a highlight of any safari experience.
Start your day with an exciting morning game drive in Amboseli, where you'll explore the park's diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes. Afterward, enjoy a scenic transfer to Nairobi, arriving around 5 pm. Lunch will be served en-route, allowing you to savor a meal while continuing your journey.
